Stop wasting time analyzing FMCSA data

Powerful Algorithms and data science do the work for you

The FMCSA data that you are reviewing using archaic third-party software is not needed any longer. Our algorithms are doing that work, and more. So now, you can use that time to book loads.

Objective Carrier Scoring

No more thumb in the wild analysis.

Carrier scoring is not determined by a person; it’s determined by a fair data scientist. Carriers are scored based on market statistics, peer groups, and millions of data points.

Carrier scores are in real time

The Carrier Assure software constantly analyzes and re-scores carriers to provide users with the most up-to-date information available. Millions of data points are analyzed daily, sometimes hourly, to ensure a real-time score when you need to make a carrier selection decision.

Scores are recalculated daily with fresh data

FAQs

When we finalize the beta stage and release the product fully to the public, we will then provide a lot more resources for users. But for now, here are the answers to a few common questions.

How does Carrier Assure determine the score?

We use data science and analytics to determine how a carrier should perform based on the industry’s benchmarks as well. We built algorithms to consistently comb through all the data and recalculate the carrier’s score daily. Ultimately, the carrier’s score is an objective metric where the carrier is compared to similar carriers and if the carrier is doing worse, better or the same as their peers, the score will reflect such performance.

Can I hire an F carrier?

Yes! The score is a performance indicator. The carrier is not scored unless it has active, for-hire, motor carrier interstate authority. Similar to how credit scores are utilized for banks, it’s an indicator on how the carrier will perform based on historical data. This means the carrier can be used for shipments that don’t require a lot of experience and are not complex. Easy, dry van, short hauls may be a good idea. It’s always best to check the carrier’s details on the FMCSA and conduct any additional vetting that you normally do before hiring the carrier, but feel free to use an F carrier for the appropriate shipment.

Does the score include violations?

Absolutely. In fact, stop wasting time searching through violations (which can change without your knowledge anyhow) and let our algorithms do that work. Violations are considered in the calculation along with the severity of the violations, timing of when they occurred and many other factors. All of the relevant FMCSA data is considered: CSA measures, percentiles, inspections, number of states inspected, miles, reported insurance. It’s all analyzed and reflected in the score.

Does Carrier Assure vet insurance policies?

Not yet. We analyze the insurance data received from the FMCSA and consider the types of insurance, relationship with the reported carrier and the amounts of insurance, which are all reflected in the score.

Are all Carriers Scored?

No. Only carriers that have valid, for-hire, interstate motor carrier authority with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration are scored. In addition, we do not score carriers that have a safety rating of Conditional or Unsatisfactory.

Does the score consider whether a carrier has broker authority?

Yes. We are serious when we say that all the relevant FMCSA data points are considered. If a carrier does have broker authority and its peers do not generally have broker authority, the carrier may have a lower score than its peers.
